Saikrupa Rice Mill

Down on the Mul-Chamorshi Road, specifically on that stretch of the highway in Chandrapur, you’ll hear the hum of Saikrupa Rice Mill. We are located near the post office, which is a good landmark for anyone trying to find us. Milling rice is loud and dusty work, but it’s what we do. The smell of grain is always in the air here. We have trucks coming in from the fields and leaving with bags of processed rice all day long. The Mul-Chamorshi highway is usually busy, so there’s a constant sound of engines passing by our gates. We aren't a big industrial complex, just a local mill where we know the farmers by name. Our team is small, mostly people from the nearby villages who have been working with machines for years. We don't have a polished front office or a reception area. If you need someone, you usually have to look for them in the back where the hullers are running. The floor is always covered in a bit of husk, no matter how much we sweep. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy through the harvest seasons. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, chatting under the trees near the road. We don’t make a big fuss about what we do. We just make sure the rice is cleaned and packed right for the local market, then we head home and do it all over again the next day.
