Manjiri General Store

This shop has been here in Kitali Bormal village for a good while. We are situated right at the post area in Nagbhir, not far from the railway station at all. It is a small place, honestly. We stock the usual things people need every day like soap, sugar, and some snacks for the kids when they walk home. It gets quite busy in the mornings when people are heading to the station. You’ll see us stacking boxes or cleaning the glass jars on the counter most days. We don’t have those fancy scanners or big bright lights like the supermarkets in the city. It is just a wooden counter and shelves packed with whatever we could fit. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next delivery truck to come through the village. We know almost everyone who walks through the door by their first name. If the weather is bad, folks sometimes stand under our small roof to stay dry. We keep the doors open from early morning until late evening. It is just a simple way to make a living and serve the local people around here. There is always a bag of grain or a crate of cold drinks sitting somewhere. We don't do anything special, just keep the shelves filled so the neighbors don't have to travel too far for their basic groceries. It is a quiet life but we like being part of the village.
