Krishna Gotiram Sweets

Our shop, Krishna Gotiram Sweets, is over in Chhatrashal. It's not a huge place, but we manage. Being near the BSNL office means we get a lot of people stopping by when they are done with their paperwork or waiting for their bills to get sorted. The kitchen in the back is where most of the life is. It gets hot, especially when the big pans are going for the milk sweets. We have a few guys who have been making these recipes for years, and they don't like it if anyone tries to change how things are done. The front counter has those glass displays that we have to wipe down every hour because of the fingerprints. It’s a busy spot. You can hear the traffic outside and the honking from the main road all day long. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we have to shuffle around with flashlights until the generator kicks in. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. Most people know we are here just by walking past and smelling the sugar. We mostly deal with the locals who come in for their daily snacks or something to take home for tea. It’s just a regular daily grind of making sure the trays are full and the floor stays clean enough. We don't have a big marketing plan, just the same routine every morning. We keep working until the last of the trays is empty and it's time to lock up.
