If you go down to the Sabji Mandi, you’ll find us there. We are Hatim & Bros. It is always loud and crowded in the mandi, which is just how it is. We get here early in the morning when the sun is barely up. There is a lot of shouting and moving things around at that hour. Our spot isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we do our business. We’ve been part of this market for a long time now. You get used to the smell of fresh vegetables and the mud when it rains. We don't have a formal office or a front desk. Most of our day is spent talking to people who pass by or dealing with suppliers. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and carrying stuff around. We don't use much technology here, just our ledgers and some pens. Sometimes we have a little stool to sit on if it's a slow moment, but those are rare. We know almost everyone else working the stalls nearby. It feels like a small community even though it's so chaotic. People come to the mandi for their daily needs and we are just one part of that routine. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We are just here every day, doing what we know how to do. It is a noisy life, but we wouldn’t know what else to do.
