About Vivek Aggarwal Dance Music Performing Institute – Art & Craft in Chandigarh
The institute is over at 3259 Sector 15. It’s usually pretty loud here, especially in the late afternoons when the students start showing up. You’ll hear a mix of different sounds coming from the rooms, maybe a harmonium or someone practicing their footwork for a dance. Vivek Aggarwal started this because there wasn’t much else around here for people who wanted to learn music or performing arts. The floors are a bit worn down from all the classes, but that’s a good sign. We don’t have fancy carpets or expensive decorations. It’s just a place to practice and get better at what you’re doing. Sometimes the schedule gets a little messy when someone shows up late, but we make it work. Sector 15 is a nice area, and being at 3259 means we see a lot of the local families coming and going. The walls are covered with some old photos and maybe a few posters from past performances. It isn’t perfect, and the air conditioner sometimes makes a weird rattling noise, but it’s our space. We spend our days teaching and listening. There is always music in the air here, which makes the long hours go by faster. We are just local people trying to keep the arts alive in our little corner of the city. It’s busy, but it’s a good kind of busy and we like it that way.
