Varma Akshay Arun Mini Architect

I’m Varma Akshay Arun and I run this small architecture practice out of House No.257 in Sector 7. It’s basically just me and a little bit of help here and there. I call it a mini architect setup because I don't take on those massive skyscrapers or anything. I prefer the smaller stuff where I can actually see what’s happening. My office is basically a room with a drafting table and a lot of pens that always seem to run out of ink at the wrong time. Sector 7 is a quiet enough place to get some drawing done. I’ve lived around here for a long time, so I know the houses well. I spend a lot of time measuring things and then realizing I need to measure them again just to be sure. It’s a lot of back and forth. I don’t have a secretary or anything fancy like that. If the phone rings, I usually pick it up myself, unless I’m out at a site getting my shoes muddy. People stop by sometimes just to ask a quick question about a wall or a roof. I try to be helpful. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls; it’s just a house where work happens. Sometimes the dog barks when someone comes to the door. That’s just life here. I like the scale of the work I do. It keeps me busy enough and I don't have to worry about managing a big staff.
