Usmani Davakhana

Usmani Davakhana is situated at 210 in Sector 38, within the Bhajiwala Estate. It’s a well-known area, though sometimes the traffic makes it hard to get to us quickly. Our place is tucked away a bit. We’ve been operating out of this spot for years. The furniture is old and the wooden counters have seen better days. We don’t see much point in changing things just for the sake of looking modern. People come to us because they know who we are and where we are. It’s a family-run kind of vibe here. You’ll often see a couple of us sitting in the back having tea between customers. The shelves are packed with traditional remedies and various preparations we keep on hand. There’s a certain way we do things here that hasn’t changed much over time. It’s not about being fast or efficient in the corporate sense. It’s about doing it right. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the next delivery, which can take a few days. We just tell people to come back later. Most people don’t mind. They know we’re just a small local place. The estate can get quite busy with all the different businesses around, but inside our doors, it stays fairly calm for the most part. We just keep the lights on and help the people who walk through our door. That's enough for us.
