I run my architecture practice from my house, which is House Number 1160 in Sector 23-B. It’s a quiet residential area, which I like because I can actually focus on the drawings without too much noise from the main road. I’ve turned one of the rooms into a proper workspace with a big drafting table and all my files tucked into shelves. Usually, people call me up and then stop by to talk about whatever they’re planning to build. I do a lot of residential work because that’s what most people in this sector need. It’s interesting to see how different families want to use their space. Some want big kitchens for lots of cooking, while others want more porch space to sit outside. I spend a lot of my time on the computer these days, but I still like to sketch things out by hand first. It feels more real that way. Sometimes the printer jams or I run out of ink right when a client is coming over, but that’s just part of working for yourself. I don’t have a big staff, so when you come here, you’re just talking directly to me. We sit down, have some tea, and look at the site dimensions together. I try to be practical about costs because I know how expensive building projects can get. Sector 23-B is a good place to be based. I’ve lived here a long time and know the rules.
