This office is located right at House No.926 in Sector 40-A. It’s a residential area, so it’s mostly peaceful, which helps when you need to focus on drawings and plans. I’ve been an architect for quite some time now, and working from this spot feels right. It’s not like those big firms in the glass buildings downtown. Here, there are stacks of rolls and blueprints everywhere. My desk is usually covered in pens and rulers. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing outside, and you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood throughout the day. I don't have a big team or a receptionist. If the phone rings, I’m the one picking it up. It’s more personal that way, I think. People come by to talk about their houses or some small project they have in mind. We sit down, look at some sketches, and see what can be done. It’s practical work. I don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what I do. Building things is just about making sure everything fits where it’s supposed to. The sun hits the front window in a certain way in the winter, making it a good time to work. Most people find the place easily since it’s a well-known street. It’s just a regular house where work happens every day. I’ve lived here forever and I think that helps in understanding what people need. It is just Singh Jatinder Pal Architect, keeping things simple.
