About Setia Kapil Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
My office is located at House Number 2535 in Sector 27C. It’s basically a converted part of the house, which makes for a short commute. I’ve been practicing as an architect here for several years now. It’s mostly just me and a helper or two when things get busy. The space is filled with rolls of tracing paper and pens that are always running out of ink. I spend a lot of time at the drawing board or checking things on the computer. Sector 27C is a quiet residential area, so it’s a good place to work without too many distractions. People from the neighborhood often drop by to ask about renovating their kitchens or adding a room. I don't give them a big sales pitch. I just tell them what’s allowed under the local codes and what might be too expensive to try. I do a lot of my own site visits, driving out to check on foundations and brickwork. It’s important to see things in person because drawings don't always show the whole story. I’m not running a big firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just a small, local practice where I handle the work myself. I like it that way because I know exactly what’s happening with every project. It’s a quiet life, but the work is steady and keeps me thinking. I usually wrap up by evening to spend time with my family.
