Seema Rajpal Architect

The office is at 836/1 in Sec 40-A. It’s a fairly quiet spot, which suits the way we work most of the time. Seema Rajpal Architect is a small practice where things are handled directly. We don't have a bunch of assistants or a big reception area at the front. Usually, it's just the sound of someone drafting or the occasional phone call ringing. The space at 836/1 is filled with various samples, bits of stone, and lots of folders that need sorting. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we have a lot of drawings spread out on the floor to see the whole plan at once. Sector 40-A is a nice neighborhood, and it's easy enough to find if you are familiar with the local streets and the way the houses are numbered. We spend our mornings going through emails and then the rest of the day is usually spent on the actual design work. It’s not a glamorous setup, just a few sturdy desks and some good lamps for when it gets dark outside. We try to keep things simple. If a drawing needs to be redone, we just sit down and do it. There isn't much talk about concepts here, we just look at what the space needs and try to draw something that works. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things. The daily routine is pretty much the same, but every project brings something a bit different to the table at Sec 40-A.
