Our place, Durga Dass Hybrid Seeds Pvt. Ltd., is right in the middle of the Grain Market at Shop Number 1. If you know the market, you know how hectic it gets during the harvest seasons. We spend our days talking to farmers and people looking for good seeds to plant. It is a simple business based on the dirt and the seasons. My family has been around the agriculture scene for a long time, so opening this shop felt like the natural thing to do. The grain market is a loud, busy place with trucks coming and going, but we like the energy of it. We keep various types of hybrid seeds in stock. The shop isn't very large, but it's filled with bags of inventory and the smell of grain. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty, but that is just how it is in this line of work. We aren't trying to be some big international corporation, we just want to provide what the local growers need for their fields. Most of our customers are regulars who come back every year when it is time to sow. We listen to their stories about the weather and the soil. It is a practical life, working with the land and the people who farm it. You can find us there most days from morning until the market quietens down in the evening. It’s hard work, but seeing the crops grow makes it worth it.
