Sai Arpan Fruit Co

We are located at Shop No 18 in the Sector 26 area. If you know the market, you know it gets very loud and busy early in the morning. Sai Arpan Fruit Co is right in the middle of all that action. We start our days when it is still dark outside, getting the fruit crates unloaded and stacked up. There is always a lot of shouting and trucks backing up in this part of Sector 26. We deal with whatever is in season, so the shop looks different depending on the month. Some weeks it is all mangoes and the smell is very strong, other times it is apples or oranges from the hills. The floor usually has some stray straw or bits of cardboard on it because things move so fast here and we don't always have time to sweep. We don't have much space for sitting down, so we stay on our feet most of the day. Dealing with fresh fruit means you have to move quickly before things go soft in the heat. We have a few guys who help with the loading and unloading of the vehicles. It’s a hard way to earn a living but it keeps us busy and we like the energy of the Mandi. We see a lot of different people every day, from big buyers to someone just looking for a small bag of grapes. Our shop isn't fancy, just a concrete space with fruit and scales. That is just the way we do things.
