If you go to the Inner Market in Sector 7- C, you’ll find us at Booth No. 1. It’s a small space, but we’ve made it work for a long time now. Being in Chandigarh, the sectors are all laid out nicely, but the market life is still pretty busy. We arrive in the morning and pull up the metal shutters, which always makes a loud rattling sound that the neighbors probably hate. Sahiba J. Singh is really just about the daily work. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture. There's a main table where we do most of our sorting and a couple of chairs for when someone needs to sit down. We spend a lot of time talking to the people who walk by. Since we are Booth No. 1, everyone passes us on their way into the rest of the market. We see the same faces every day, from the guy who delivers the newspapers to the lady who runs the snack stall across the way. The winters here can get quite chilly, so we usually have a small heater tucked under the table to keep our feet warm. In the summer, the sun hits the front of the booth directly, so we have to put up a temporary shade. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s ours and we know every corner of this little room. It's just a regular part of the Sector 7- C community and we've been here longer than most of the other shops around.
