Our place is at Plot No.19 in the Timber Market over in Sector 26. It is a noisy area, especially in the mornings when the trucks start rolling in with all the fresh wood. We have been working out of this spot for a good number of years now. Dealing with timber means there is always sawdust on the floor no matter how much we sweep. Ram Lal and Ramesh Kumar started this together, and we just kept it going. It’s a lot of physical work, moving logs and checking the quality of the planks that come through. We spend most of our time outside or in the shed area rather than sitting behind a desk. The market gets very crowded during the peak season. You can smell the pine and teak from down the road. We have a small cabin for the accounts and to keep the ledger books dry. Sometimes we sit there when the rain gets too heavy to work outside. Most of our customers are locals who have been buying from us for a long time. They know where to find us in Sector 26. It’s not a fancy setup by any means. We have some old wooden benches and a rusty gate that squeaks. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the inventory is where it should be. It's an honest living and we're used to the rhythm of the market now. Every day brings something a bit different to the yard.
