About Rakesh Kumar Bansal Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
Our office is tucked away in Sector-44 D, right at House Number 3162. It’s a quiet area, which is nice when you’re trying to concentrate on complicated structural drawings. Rakesh has been running things from here for a good while, and the place has that lived-in feel you only get after years of working in the same spot. There’s a big wooden table in the main room where we spread out all the blueprints. Half the time, the chair legs squeak, and the overhead light flickers a bit if you don't hit the switch just right. We handle a lot of local residential stuff, so there’s always someone coming in to talk about a renovation or a new floor they want to add. It isn't a high-pressure environment; we take our time to make sure the lines are straight and the numbers add up. Usually, there’s a radio playing softly in the corner, mostly news or some old songs. The bookshelves are packed with heavy code books and old folders from projects we finished back in the nineties. We don’t really go for the modern, minimalist look in the office—it’s more about having everything within arm’s reach. It can get a little crowded when a few clients show up at once, but we just pull up some extra stools. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do every day and it suits us just fine.
