Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board, Chandigarh

We are based at Plot-1B in Sector 27A, right on Madhya Marg in Chandigarh. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy the road stays with everyone heading toward the main markets. The building for the Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board isn't hard to find but parking can be a bit of a nightmare during the middle of the day. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of keyboards and people talking over maps of the sewer lines. We have these big rolls of paper blueprints all over the place and some of them look like they haven't been touched in years. It’s a typical government setup where things take a bit of time to move through the different desks. We deal with everything from big pipes under the city to the stuff that happens at the treatment plants. Most of us have been working here long enough that we know where all the tricky valves are hidden under the streets. It gets loud when the maintenance trucks are idling in the yard out back. We don't really have a lot of decorations on the walls, just some old calendars and maybe a photo of a project from ten years ago. It’s just a place where we show up, look at the water levels, and try to make sure the city's drains don't back up when it rains hard.
