Punjab Govt. Undertaking (Corporation)

Our office is found at House Number 2055 in Sector-45C, Chandigarh. If you know Chandigarh, you know how the sectors are laid out, and 45C has its own particular character. It is a mix of houses and small offices like ours. We are part of a government undertaking, but the office itself feels very much like a local spot. It is a two-story building with a small courtyard in the front. We have lived with the same furniture for years, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. We spend our days tracking projects and filing reports. The fans hum constantly during the summer months to keep the air moving. Since we are in a residential sector, it is mostly quiet, though you hear the occasional vegetable seller or the sound of kids playing nearby after school. We do not have a big fancy sign out front, just a small plate with the name on it. Most of the people who work here have been with the corporation for a long time, so we are more like a small family than a group of coworkers. We share our lunches and talk about our families while we handle the daily bureaucracy. It is not a high-pressure environment, but we stay busy enough. It is a simple, honest way to spend the work week in a nice part of Chandigarh.
