Our workshop is tucked into Industrial Area Phase I. It's a busy spot, and there is always the sound of tools hitting metal or engines running in the background. We have been in this part of Chandigarh for years. The floor stays pretty greasy no matter how much we try to sweep it up at the end of the shift. Most of the guys here have been working together for a long time, so we don't need to say much to get things moving. We open up the shutters early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. By noon, the sun is hitting the metal roof and it gets warm inside. We usually have a few cars parked out front waiting for their turn. Sometimes the parts take a day or two to arrive, so we have to shuffle things around in the yard to make space. It’s not a polished showroom or anything. We just have our tools, some old chairs for when we take a break, and a lot of spare parts lying on the shelves. Most people find us because they know the area well. We don't spend much time on decorations. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but work keeps us too busy for that. It’s a decent place to spend the day if you don't mind getting your hands dirty and dealing with the noise of the phase one traffic.
