Pgi Hospital

We are located in Sector-12 in Chandigarh, right across from Punjab University. Because of where we are, we see a lot of students and university staff walking by every day. The hospital is quite a large place and it stays busy from early morning until late at night. Chandigarh has those wide roads, but even here, the traffic can get backed up right outside our gates. Inside, the corridors are long and a bit chilly in the winter months. We spend most of our time moving between different floors and checking on patients. The lobby is always full of people sitting on their bags or waiting for news. It’s a very functional place, not much in the way of decoration. We have a small canteen where the tea is actually pretty good, and that’s where most of the staff hangs out for ten minutes when they can. The sound of stretchers being wheeled around is something you just stop hearing after a week of working here. We use old metal clipboards that have seen better days. It is a lot of hard work, and the shifts are long, but this is the center of everything for us. People come from all over the state to get here, so the waiting rooms are never empty. We don't have much time for small talk, but we try to be as helpful as we can with the crowds that gather. It is a busy life here in Sector-12.
