The Motor Market in Sector 2 is always noisy with the sound of hammers and engines revving up. That is where our shop is located. We spend most of the day covered in grease or smelling like thinners and fresh paint. Fixing dents takes a lot of patience and a good eye, even if the shop itself looks a bit messy. There are car parts leaning against the walls and old tins of paint stacked in the corners. We don't have a fancy waiting room or anything. Most customers just stand around and watch us work or go grab a tea nearby while we get the color right. The floor is stained with oil and it’s hard to keep it clean for more than an hour. Summer is the toughest time because the tin roof makes the heat stay inside, but we keep the big fans running. It’s a busy life here. You get all sorts of cars coming through, some just need a small scratch fixed and others look like they’ve been through a lot. We just take it one job at a time. Sometimes we stay late when a job needs to dry properly before the morning. It’s not a quiet job, but it’s what we do every day. The other mechanics nearby are always shouting across the lane, so it feels like a community. We just keep our heads down and get the cars back on the road.
