Our office sits at SCO 373, right on the edge of Sector 36 and 37. It’s an old building and the stairs going up can be a bit creaky on the rainy days. We do design work, which mostly means a lot of us sitting around wooden desks with drawings and blueprints spread out everywhere. There are always rolls of tracing paper and stray pens lying around on the floor. It’s not a very tidy place, but we think better when there’s some creative clutter around us. We’ve been working together as a small group for a long time. We don't have a fancy receptionist or a glossy brochure to give people. If you come by, you’ll just find us working on whatever project is on the table that day. Sometimes we argue about where a wall should go or what color to use for a room, but that’s just part of how we do things. We use regular computers and old-fashioned rulers for most of it. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in the city or anything. We just like taking an idea and trying to make it work on paper so it can be built. The windows in the office let in some really good light in the mornings, which makes it a nice place to sit. We drink a lot of tea and usually have the radio playing quietly in the background while we work. It’s a quiet life, mostly focused on the drawings and getting the measurements exactly right.
