About Navjeet Singh Matharu Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
I run my practice out of 144 in Sector 40-A. It’s a quiet part of the sector, which is great for when I need to concentrate on a complicated floor plan. I’ve been working as an architect for a good number of years now, and I’ve stayed in this area because it feels like home. My office isn't anything corporate. It’s a working space filled with pens, rulers, and stacks of drawings that I need to get through. I spend a lot of time on the phone with builders or sitting at my desk sketching out ideas. People around Sector 40-A might know me as the guy who’s always carrying a roll of paper under his arm. I handle everything myself, from the first sketch to the final site check. It keeps me busy, but I prefer it that way because I know exactly what’s happening with every brick. Sometimes the work is slow, and other times I’m rushing to get things finished before the sun goes down. I don't really use a lot of flashy software if I can help it; I still like the feel of a pencil on paper. It makes the design feel more personal. My neighbors often stop by to chat while I’m heading out to a site. It’s a friendly atmosphere here. I just try to do honest work and make sure the houses I design are solid.
