Matharu Navjit Singh Architect runs the practice out of House No.144 in Sector 40-A. It’s a residential area, so it’s much quieter than the commercial blocks you find in the middle of town. The office is basically a converted part of the house where Navjit and the rest of the team spend their working hours. There’s a lot of drawing, measuring, and checking regulations going on every single day. We don’t have a receptionist or a big lobby for people to wait in. If someone comes by, they usually just walk in and find us working at the desks. Sector 40-A is a familiar place for us, and working from here makes the whole process feel more grounded and less formal. We handle various building designs, from small home additions to some bigger structures. Most of the day is spent on the computer or sketching out initial thoughts on tracing paper. It requires a lot of quiet concentration. We have a few shelves full of old files and some material samples like bricks, wood, or tiles scattered around. It’s not a polished corporate environment, just a real workspace where things get built on paper first. We talk to people about what they want for their homes and try to make it work within the local rules. It’s straightforward, honest work without any unnecessary fluff or marketing. We like the pace here in Sector 40-A and the way we can focus on our projects.
