Our workspace is located at House Number 49 inside the Tribune Housing Complex in Raipur Khurd village. It’s a residential setting, which makes it feel a lot more relaxed than being in a city center. You can hear the everyday sounds of the village and the housing complex while we work. The office is basically a converted part of the house, so it feels very personal. We have our drafting tables set up where the light is best, usually near the front windows. There are stacks of catalogs and material samples sitting in the corners, and the shelves are mostly overflowing with building codes and old reference books. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, especially when we are in the middle of a big deadline and haven't had time to tidy up the sketches. We don't have a big sign outside or a fancy entrance. Most people who come here are neighbors or people who heard about us from someone else in the area. We spend a lot of time talking about site levels and how the sun hits certain spots during the day. It’s a slow and steady kind of place. We drink a lot of tea and spend our afternoons drawing or checking on progress at nearby sites. It is just a small, local operation where we take our time to get the lines straight and the rooms sized right for whoever is going to live in them.
