About Khanna Richa Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
I work out of House No.41 in Sector 9A. It’s a quiet enough spot, which is good when you need to focus on drawing lines that actually meet up. Being an architect here means I spend a lot of time looking at the same few streets and thinking about how the houses were built years ago. My workspace is just a room filled with books, a big table, and way too many coffee mugs. Khanna Richa Architect isn't a big firm with a name on a skyscraper. It’s just me and a couple of people helping out when things get busy. We spend our mornings checking emails and the afternoons usually involve a lot of sketching. Sector 9A is a nice place to be based because everything feels familiar. I often see the same people walking their dogs while I’m looking out the window thinking about a roof design. We don’t do those polished presentations you see on TV. Usually, it’s just us showing a client some rough drawings and talking about where the sunlight hits the living room. There are mistakes sometimes, like a measurement that needs redoing or a printer that jams right when we need a permit. But that’s just part of the job. We keep things straightforward and try not to overcomplicate the process. It’s just about building things that stay standing and look okay in the neighborhood without spending too much money on things that don't matter.
