Kewel Art Press is tucked away at 93 Industrial Area Phase I. It’s an old building, and you can hear the machines humming from the street before you even walk through the door. The air inside always smells like ink and fresh paper, which is something I’ve grown to like over the years. We have these big printing presses that take up most of the floor space, and they are almost always running. It gets pretty loud, so we usually have to shout a bit to hear each other. There are stacks of paper everywhere, different colors and weights, waiting to be turned into something. My hands are usually a bit stained with ink by the end of the day, no matter how careful I am. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. People just walk in, show us what they need printed, and we figure out how to get it done on time. Sometimes the machines act up or a part needs fixing, and that can be a real headache, but we manage to keep things going. The industrial area is a bit gritty, and there is always a lot of activity with trucks loading and unloading nearby. It’s a hardworking place with no frills. We focus on the machines and the paper, making sure the lines are straight and the colors look right. It’s just us doing our job in our little corner of Phase I.
