I.C.P.L.

Our office is called Ganga Cottage, and it is located in the Sanjauli area of Shimla. Working up here in the mountains is definitely different from being down in the plains. The mornings are usually very cold, so the first thing we do is get the heaters going and make a hot pot of tea. The building has that old Shimla charm, though it can be a bit drafty when the wind picks up. We have a great view of the hills, which is probably the best part of working here. Inside, it is pretty cozy. We have bookshelves crammed with old records and desks that are a bit scarred from years of use. It is a quiet place to work, which helps us focus. We don't get a lot of walk-in traffic because of where we are situated, but that is fine with us. We prefer the quiet. The walk up to the cottage can be a bit steep, so we all have strong legs by now. We’ve been part of the Sanjauli community for a long time. It is a place where everyone knows your name and people still stop to say hello on the street. We don't have any corporate slogans or big fancy goals. We just want to keep our little office running smoothly and enjoy the mountain air while we do it. I.C.P.L. is just a small part of this town.
