Grafton Electrical Industries

Grafton Electrical Industries is located at Plot No-10 in Industrial Area Phase-2. The easiest way to find us is to look for the HDFC Bank right across the street. If you miss the bank, you’ve probably gone too far. We’ve been in this phase for quite a few years now. The building is a bit older, and the stairs creak a little when you walk up. We spend our days surrounded by wires, testers, and various electrical components. There’s usually a radio playing somewhere in the background, mostly old songs that help the time go by. The floor is often covered with snippets of copper or bits of insulation that we sweep up at the end of the shift. We aren’t into fancy corporate talk or big meetings. We just talk over the machines or during the lunch break. My old man still drops by sometimes to check how things are going, even though he’s technically retired. He usually finds something to complain about, like a tool not being put back in the right place. We have a small cupboard where we keep the tea leaves and sugar. It’s a bit of a ritual to make a pot around four in the afternoon. The windows look out onto the main road, so we see all the commuters heading home while we are finishing up. It’s a solid place to work and we’ve got a good rhythm going after all this time.
