We are located in Phase I of the Industrial Area at number 27. Our space is basically a big warehouse full of metal shelves that go all the way up to the rafters. Every shelf is loaded with heavy boxes of car parts, from brake pads to fan belts and everything in between. The air always smells a bit like rubber and new metal. It is a busy spot where delivery vans are constantly backing up to the loading dock and people are shouting out part numbers over the noise of the engines. We spend a lot of time climbing ladders to find that one specific box someone needs for an old truck. My clothes usually have a few grease stains by lunchtime, and the floor is stained with oil drips that we stopped trying to scrub out years ago. We don't have a nice place for people to sit, just a counter made of thick wood that has been dented by heavy metal parts being tossed onto it. It’s mostly just us and the inventory, keeping track of what’s coming in and what’s going out to the local mechanics. The sun hits the metal roof and makes it pretty warm in the summer, but we just keep the big bay doors open to get a breeze. It’s a straightforward job, moving parts from one place to another and making sure the numbers match up.
