About Dry Fruit Bazaar – Food & Beverages in Chandigarh
Out here in Sector 26, our shop is usually filled with the smell of walnuts and almonds. Dry Fruit Bazaar is where we spend all our time, usually sorting through bags or weighing things out for people who come in. Sector 26 is always a busy part of Chandigarh, so there's always someone walking past or stopping in to ask about the prices of cashews or raisins. We have rows of jars and sacks everywhere you look. It can get a bit crowded when a few customers come in at once, especially during the festival months when everyone wants to buy gifts for their family. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many different types of nuts and dried fruits, there's always a bit of a mess to clean up at the end of the day. The sun hits the front window in the afternoon, making it quite warm inside, so we usually have the fan going full speed to keep us cool. We’ve been at this for a while now, and we know most of the regulars who live around here or work in the nearby markets. Sometimes we just sit on the stools and wait for the next delivery truck to arrive from the warehouse. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy boxes and making sure everything is stored properly. We don’t do much advertising; people find us because we’ve been in this spot for years. It is a plain and simple shop where we just do our work.
