About Daminder Virdi Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
I run my practice out of H.No.1038 in Sector-35-B. It is a quiet spot, which helps when I need to concentrate on a complicated drawing. Working from this location means I see a lot of the same faces every day, which I like. My desk is usually a mess of pens and half-finished notes. I try to keep things organized, but when a new idea comes along, the old papers just pile up. Being an architect in this area for some time, I’ve worked on all sorts of houses and small buildings. Every project has its own set of headaches, like tight budgets or weird lot shapes. I don't try to hide that. Building something is hard work and takes a lot of patience. Sometimes I spend hours just staring at a wall trying to figure out a better way to place a staircase. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what I know. People stop by, we have some tea, and we look at what’s possible for their space. I don't use much software unless I have to; I still like the feel of a pencil on paper. It feels more honest that way. If you’re looking for me, I’m usually here, probably wrestling with a tape measure or checking some dimensions for a local project. Sometimes I take the dog for a walk around the sector to clear my head and get away from the screen.
