Chawla Camera Repair

You can find us on the first floor over at SCO 1018 and 1019. We’re right there in Sector 22, near Dulya Maruti Chowk. It’s a very busy spot because the bus stand is just across the way. You hear the buses honking all day long. We spend most of our time hunched over workbenches with tiny screws and lenses. It’s slow work and can be hard on the eyes. The light from the window is okay, but we use those big magnifying lamps too. People come in with cameras they dropped on vacation or stuff that just stopped working for no reason. We take a look and see what we can do. Sometimes the parts take forever to arrive. The shop isn't very big, and there are old camera bodies sitting in the corners. It smells a bit like cleaning fluid and old leather cases. We take our breaks when the shop is empty. Sector 22 is always moving, so there is always something to see out the window. It’s a lot of sitting still while the rest of the world rushes by to catch a bus. We’ve been here a while and know most of the other shopkeepers on this floor. It's a tight-knit group. Usually, people are in a hurry when they drop stuff off, but we tell them it takes time. You can't rush fixing things this small or you'll lose a spring.
