About Archna Sood Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
I run my architectural practice from my home at H.No.1532 in Sector-38-B. It’s a simple setup that works well for me and the people I help. Being based in a house means I don’t have a lot of the overhead that bigger offices have, so I can just focus on the drawings. Sector-38-B is a settled part of town, and most of my neighbors know what I do. I spend my mornings on the drawing board or answering emails about various building projects. It’s mostly residential work—people looking to add an extra room or build a new house on their plot. I’ve lived and worked here for a long time, so I’m very familiar with the local building bylaws. My workspace is usually a bit of a mess with blueprints and sketches, but I know where everything is. Clients usually just come by the house, and we go over their ideas in the front room. It’s a very low-key way of doing business. I don’t go in for big presentations or fancy digital walkthroughs unless they’re really needed. I prefer to keep things simple and clear. Sometimes I’m out at a construction site checking on things, so the office is empty, but I’m usually back by the afternoon. It’s just a small, one-person operation dedicated to getting the plans right for local families. I try to make sure each project is handled with a bit of common sense.
