About Aradhana Gakhar Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
My office is basically my home base at H.No.520 in Sector 10-D. I’ve been working as an architect from this location for quite a while. It’s a quiet residential area, which I find helpful when I need to concentrate on a difficult floor plan or a complex structural issue. I don’t have a big staff or a fancy lobby. Usually, it’s just me and maybe an assistant working through the daily list of tasks. Most of the work involves meeting with people who want to change their homes or build something new from scratch. I spend a lot of time with a pencil in hand before I ever touch the computer. It’s a more personal way of working, I think. People come by the house, we sit down with some tea, and we talk about what they need. I try to be realistic about budgets and what the local regulations will allow. Sector 10-D is a nice neighborhood, and I like being tucked away from the main commercial hubs. It keeps things grounded. I handle the drawings, the submissions, and the site visits myself most of the time. It’s busy, but it’s the kind of work I enjoy. The desk is always covered in tracing paper and pens, and there’s usually a stack of building codes nearby. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real architectural work for real people. I just try to make sure every wall and window is where it should be.
