Aashirwad Paint & Sanitary Store

If you go down to Mayur Colony in Manimajra, you’ll find us at shop number 2263/2. We have a lot of paint cans stacked up right near the entrance. It smells like fresh paint and hardware in here most of the time. We spend our days mixing colors and helping people pick out the right shades for their walls. The shop is a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step around the stacks of tiles and pipes. We also keep a good amount of sanitary ware in the back. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there is usually someone sitting at the counter ready to talk. We don't use any fancy software to match colors; we just know what works from doing it for so long. Some days are loud because of the traffic on the main road nearby. We keep the ledger on a wooden desk that has seen better days. Customers come in with photos of their bathrooms or kitchens, and we try to find stuff that fits their space. We aren't trying to sell anyone the most expensive thing. We just want them to leave with what they actually need. When the sun goes down, we lock up the shutters and head home. It’s a quiet routine, but we like it. The neighborhood knows us as the place with all the paint buckets outside. We often have some tea with the regular contractors who stop by to pick up supplies.
