Niltara Medicine Shopmedicine

The shop is called Niltara Medicine Shopmedicine and you can find us in Hooghly. It is not a very big place, just a regular shop on the street. I have been working here for a long time now. Every morning, I come in and unlock the shutters. The air in Hooghly is usually a bit humid, especially during the monsoon months. I start by dusting the glass counters because the dust from the road always finds its way inside. We have rows of shelves filled with different boxes of medicine. People from the neighborhood come in throughout the day. Some are looking for something for a headache, others have long lists from their doctors. I spend a lot of time reading handwriting on those slips of paper. It can be tricky sometimes. We have a small stool in the corner where I sit when there are no customers. I watch the traffic go by outside. Sometimes the delivery truck comes and we have to check every single item against the bill. It takes a lot of time. We try to keep things organized but when it gets busy, boxes end up everywhere. By the time evening comes, the street lights are on and more people stop by on their way home from work. It is a simple life here in Hooghly. We just do our bit to make sure people get what they need. It is not a fancy business, just a local shop where we do our work every day.
