Our place is on Bhakunda Nimtala Road in Chandannagar. It’s a bit of a drive if you’re coming from the main city, but we like it here in Hooghly. The building is old, and it has that specific smell of cloth and dust. We deal with garments and textiles under the Garbo name. It’s mostly National Cloth India Pvt Ltd on the official papers, but everyone around here just knows where the factory is. We have a lot of machines running, so it gets pretty noisy during the day. The workers have been with us for years. Some of them live right nearby. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they’ve seen our trucks. Chandannagar is a quiet town with a lot of history, and we feel like a part of that. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make cloth and sell it. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy, but we still manage to get the deliveries out. It’s hard work, and the margins aren’t always great, but it’s what we know how to do. We don't have air conditioning in the main area, just big fans. It keeps us grounded. We’re just a local business trying to keep things moving. We usually close up around seven in the evening when the light starts to fade over the river. It's a long day but it feels alright.
