S.B. Hatchery

We are out here in Honganur Village, which is part of the Chamrajanagara Taluk and District. The name of the place is S.B. Hatchery. It’s run by Basavanna, who is the son of Mallaiah. If you’re looking for us, we’re right in the village area, not too far from the post office. It’s a rural spot, very different from the big cities like Bangalore. Life here moves at its own slow pace. We spend most of our time tending to the hatchery. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours, starting early in the morning, but it’s what we know. The 571117 area is home for us. We’ve lived in Honganur for generations. My father Mallaiah was well known here too, so people usually know the family. We don’t have a website or any of those modern things, just the physical location. People from the surrounding villages usually just walk in or call when they need something. It’s a practical business. There’s always something to fix or a bird to check on. It gets very dusty and hot, especially in the summer months, but that’s just part of the job out here. We aren't trying to be the biggest hatchery around, just trying to keep things running smoothly and honestly. If you're coming from the main district road, just ask for Basavanna’s place or S.B. Hatchery. Most people in the village can point you the right way. We value the routine of the day-to-day work here.
