Kalyani Silks is located in Barchha Para. It is a place where we have a lot of fabric and sarees piled up on the shelves. The shop isn't very large, but we try to keep a good variety of silks for people to look at. We spend most of our day folding and unfolding clothes. When someone comes in, we show them the different colors and patterns we have in stock. It’s a lot of manual work, and keeping everything neat is almost impossible when it gets busy. The lighting inside is bright so people can see the real color of the silk. We don't have a website or anything like that; people usually just walk in because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. Barchha Para is a quiet enough area, but on festival days, the shop gets quite crowded. We have stools for people to sit on while they browse through the stacks. There is always a faint smell of new fabric in the air. We are just local people running a shop, nothing fancy about it. We have some regular customers who have been coming to us for years. We don't do big advertisements or anything promotional. We just open the doors in the morning and wait to see who comes by. It is a simple way of doing business, focusing on the material and the thread work we have available on the shelves.
