Down in Chamoli, you can find our office at the Zila Panchayat Bhawan. We are specifically located at House Number 02 on the Zila Panchayat Campus. It is the residence of Mr. B.S. Negi, and we have our base of operations there. Being in Uttranchal means the surroundings are quite different from the noisy city centers. The hills are right there, and the air is usually a lot colder than you’d expect. We spend most of our time just managing the various papers and tasks that come with being Leighton India in this district. It is a very simple way of working. There are no glass walls or fancy elevator systems here. We just have a regular room where we sit and get things done. The campus itself is often busy with local people coming in for their own business. We just stay in our corner and keep moving forward with our work. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait for it to come back while we talk. It is a very grounded existence. We don't have any big corporate goals plastered on the walls. It is just a desk, a few chairs, and the daily grind. If you are ever up this way, you will see it is a very modest setup. We like the quiet pace of Chamoli for our work and stay busy.
