The Mrityunjaya Palace Hotel

The Mrityunjaya Palace Hotel is located where Kalindi Vihar meets Kedarnath Road, right on Dakhin Kali Marg. It’s a busy spot, especially when pilgrims are heading up towards the shrines. The building isn't a palace in the royal sense, but we try to keep it comfortable for whoever stops by. We have a lot of rooms and a kitchen that stays busy during the peak season. The staff is mostly local guys who know the roads well. Sometimes the power goes out or the water takes a minute to get hot, but that’s just life in this area. We’ve got a bit of a parking area out front which is helpful since the road can get tight. The lobby is simple with a few chairs and a desk where we keep the guest book. Most people stay for a night and then move on early in the morning. We don’t have a big marketing department or glossy brochures. We just rely on people seeing the sign as they drive through Dakhin Kali Marg. It gets cold here in the evenings, so we make sure there are enough blankets in the cupboards. It's a plain, practical place for travelers. We’ve been here for several years now and have seen all sorts of weather and all sorts of people. It’s just us running the place, trying to keep things moving and the rooms ready for the next group.
