Jalaram Marbal

We've been here at Bhadgaon Road in Takli Village for a while now. Jalaram Marbal is basically just us working with stone every day. It gets dusty, and the sun is hot, but that's how it goes here. People come by when they are building a house or just fixing up a small part of their yard. We don't have fancy offices or anything like that. It's just a yard with blocks and slabs of marble. Sometimes the trucks are late or the weather makes things slow, but we keep at it. Most of the folks around here know where we are. We've got different types of stone sitting around, and we try to keep things organized, though it doesn't always stay that way. It's a lot of heavy lifting. My family helps out, and we have a few guys who have been with us for years. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide what people need for their floors and walls. If you drive down the road, you'll see the signs. It's a quiet spot most days except when the cutting machines are running. We drink a lot of tea and talk to whoever stops in. That is pretty much the way things happen here. We just handle the stone and hope it looks good when it's finished. It is a long day's work but we have gotten used to the rhythm of the village and the noise of the saws.
