Universal Instruments

Universal Instruments is located in Nellayi, which is near Chalakudi in the Thrissur district. It’s a nice part of Kerala with a lot of greenery around. We are situated not too far from the local post office. Our workplace is a modest building that has been around for quite a few years. It’s not a glass-and-steel laboratory; it’s more of a workshop where we keep things moving. We spend most of our time looking at small parts and making sure everything is put together correctly. It requires a bit of patience and a steady hand. The people who work here are all from nearby villages, so we usually speak the local language and keep things friendly. We don't have a big marketing budget or a sales team that goes around knocking on doors. Most of our work comes from people who have heard about us through others in the trade. The weather can be quite humid here, so we have the windows open to catch the breeze while we work. Sometimes the sound of the rain on the roof is so loud we can’t even hear ourselves talk. We just keep our heads down and focus on the instruments. It’s a quiet life for the most part, away from the big city noise. We like it that way because it lets us concentrate on what we are doing without too many distractions from the outside world.
