Atola Farmer Producer Company Ltd.

Atola Farmer Producer Company is based in Aarola, over in the Chakur taluka. We are basically a group of neighbors who decided to pool our resources. The farming life around here is tough, and we thought if we worked together, maybe we could get better prices for what we grow. We handle things like pulses and grains, mostly whatever the season brings. Our setup is pretty simple. We have a place where we meet and store some of our stuff. It isn’t a high-rise office or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we can get work done. We spend most of our time out in the fields or talking to other farmers in Aarola about their harvests. There’s a lot of trial and error involved in what we do. Some ideas work, others don't, and we just have to be okay with that. We don't use big words or try to act like we’re something we’re not. We are just local people trying to make the most of what we have. It’s about being fair and keeping things honest. If a member has a problem, they just walk in and we talk about it. It’s a slow process building something like this, but we’re in it for the long haul because it’s our home. We hope it makes a difference eventually for the families living here and working the soil.
