Rungta Bricks

Working out of Kalidaspur Village in the Chakulia Block. It is a quiet spot in East Singhbum, away from the main city rush. The post office is nearby, and that is how most people find us if they are new to the area. We deal with a lot of mud and fire here. The process of making bricks has not changed much for us over the years. We wait for the right soil, mix it up, and get to work. It is seasonal stuff mostly, because the rains in this part of the country can really slow things down. When the sky opens up, the whole yard turns into a bit of a swamp. We have local folks from the village who come in to help with the molding and the stacking. There is a lot of walking back and forth across the yard every day. We do not have a fancy reception area; it is just a small room with a fan that makes a clicking noise. Most days are spent outside anyway, watching the smoke from the chimney. We see a lot of tractors coming in to pick up loads for local houses being built. It is a slow and steady kind of life. The dust gets into your hair and clothes, but you get used to it. We just focus on keeping the stacks full and the orders moving along.
