Out on Aagarwadi Road in Chakan, you'll find our school and college. It's called Navonmesh Marathi & English Medium Primary/ Secondary/ Junior College, which covers just about every grade level you can think of. Being in Pune, specifically the 410501 area, means things are always moving fast outside. Chakan has grown so much with all the factories and traffic, but once you get inside our gates, it feels a bit more normal. We have kids starting out in primary and others finishing up their junior college years, so the age range is pretty wide. Some of the classes happen in Marathi and others in English, depending on what the parents chose for their children. It can get pretty noisy during recess with all those different age groups running around the same space. The buildings are just standard concrete structures, nothing too modern, but they do the job. We spend a lot of time organizing books and making sure the classrooms are ready for the next morning. It’s a lot of work keeping track of so many students, but the teachers here are used to the rhythm of Aagarwadi Road. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that; we just rely on the fact that people in Chakan know we've been here for years. It’s a regular part of the neighborhood where you see the same faces every single morning at the gate, from the smallest kids to the older teenagers.
