Matimand Nivasi School

This school is out on the Chakan-Shikrapur Road in Pune. If you drive down that way, you know there are a lot of trucks and factories nearby, but the school itself is a bit removed from all that noise. It is a residential school, so the kids actually live here on the premises. We share space near the Holy Angels School, and it is a quiet, functional setup. The daily schedule is very important for us because the students need that structure. We wake them up, get them ready, and go through the lessons throughout the day. It is not like a regular day school where everyone leaves at three o'clock in the afternoon. There is always someone here, whether it is the staff or the students. The building is simple and practical, built to handle the needs of a boarding environment. We have a small play area and the dormitories are kept as tidy as we can manage. Life on the Chakan road can be a bit isolated, but it keeps the distractions away. We spend a lot of time on basic life skills and helping the kids with their daily tasks. It is hard work for the staff, and things aren't always perfect, but we keep the place running day after day. It’s a bit of a trek from Pune city, but it is a calm spot for the kids to stay and study.
