If you are looking for Guru Optical, we are right in Khed Lokmanya Colony on Paud Road. The best way to find us is to look for the St Stand since we are very close to it. Being near the bus stand means we see a lot of people rushing past every day to catch their rides. Our shop is filled with rows of frames on the walls and those charts with the letters that get smaller at the bottom. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass displays because fingerprints show up so easily on them. The light inside is quite bright so people can see how the different glasses look on their faces. Sometimes the bus drivers or the passengers stop in because they lost their spectacles or just need a quick adjustment. Paud Road is a busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of honking and engine noise coming from outside. Inside the colony, it feels a bit more relaxed though. We have a small machine for checking the lenses and it makes a low humming sound that we have grown fond of over the years. We usually have a bottle of water on the counter and a small stool for when we need a break. It is a simple shop and we just focus on looking at eyes and frames all day. People from the colony often pop their heads in just to say hello.
