Core Hospital

We have got our space set up on the second floor of the Kohinoor Center. If you know the Pune Nashik Highway, you probably know the building. It is right there in Chakan, which is always dusty and full of trucks. Core Hospital is what we call the place, and we have been here since the center was relatively new. Being on the second floor means we are a bit away from the noise of the highway, but you can still hear the big lorries rumbling past all day long. The stairs can be a bit of a climb for some, but we have the lift working most of the time. Chakan is an industrial hub, so we see a lot of workers and people from the nearby factories coming in. It is a practical hospital, not a luxury hotel. We focus on getting people treated and back on their feet. The waiting room chairs are basic and the lighting is just standard overhead tubes. We don't spend money on fancy marketing because the locals already know where we are. The staff lives mostly nearby, so we are all part of the same town. Some days the heat in Chakan is pretty bad, but we keep the fans going and stay busy. It is a tough area to work in sometimes because of the traffic, but we are glad to be here at the Kohinoor Center. It is just honest work.
